Growth Fund Partner
Marek Kiisa (born 1968) is a BaltCap Growth Fund Partner. He is also the Managing Partner of Astrec Invest, a private equity and venture capital company founded in 2006. Prior to that, he worked as the Senior Executive of the Swedish listed company Scanditron (owned by ElektronikGruppen) and Finnish technology company Oy Scantarp AB.
Marek is currently participating in the Supervisory Boards of the following companies: Astrec Baltic (telecom), Eesti Ekspress AS (media) and Astrec Data (data center). He is a member of the Kauffman Fellowship Society in the United States and one of the founders of the EstBAN Business Angels in Estonia and NordBAN network of Business Angels in the Nordics.
Marek has an eMBA degree from Estonian Business School and a Master's degree from the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.
BaltCap has entered into an agreement to sell its 54% holding in InMedica to BGSF Sanus, subsidiary of Invalda INVL. InMedica is a leading chain of primary care and specialized outpatient clinics in Lithuania with 18 clinics in seven cities.
BaltCap Infrastructure Fund (BInF) has acquired 70% of shares in biomass combined heat and power plant in Riga region from Latvian company AS ENERGOECO. Highly efficient woodchip-fired CHP plant started to operate in October 2017, capital expenditure for building and launching the plant was €17 million. The transaction is expected to close after receiving competition clearance.
